Your rate, not a market quote

Pallet shipping cost estimator

Price a pallet from a rate you already have. The page will not invent a market tariff. It calculates freight class, dimensional weight and linear feet, then multiplies the figure you choose by the rate you type.

How the calculation works

Parcel basis uses chargeable weight: the greater of actual and volumetric weight, rounded on the shipment rule, times your rate per kilogram or pound.

Hundredweight basis uses actual pounds divided by 100, times your rate per cwt. It is not adjusted by a class tariff. The class is shown beside it so you can see the density band.

Linear-foot basis uses occupied trailer feet times your rate per foot. Example rates in the worked examples are illustrations, not offers.

Questions

Why do I have to enter a rate?

A pallet cost without a rate would be a made-up number. Carriers price lanes, class, fuel and accessorials differently. Bring the rate from your agreement or your last invoice.

Is the freight class included in the price?

The class is calculated and shown. The cwt cost uses your rate as you entered it. It does not look up a class-based tariff.

Which weight is used for a parcel pallet?

The rounded chargeable weight: actual weight or dimensional weight, whichever is higher.

Can this book a shipment?

No. It is a planning estimate. Parcel and fulfilment links on this page are separate affiliate offers.
